Direction in the House Still Uncertain – Weigh in to Support RTP

While House transportation reauthorization legislation as introduced would protect the Recreational Trails Program (RTP), there is much uncertainty over what the final bill will look like. Leaders in the House are wrangling over much broader issues unrelated to RTP, yet it is imperative that we continue to make Members aware of the importance of including RTP in legislation that ultimately passes the full House.
The future of RTP is already in a much better position largely thanks to your efforts. Please keep up the intensity for just a while longer. Both the House and Senate are focused on passing comprehensive legislation at this time, and while success may remain in doubt, your efforts will benefit RTP into the future.
Senate Update:
Senator Klobuchar continues to lead the charge on the Senate side with her amendment to restore dedicated funding for RTP. She has been joined on her amendment by seven cosponsors including Senators Burr (R-NC), Shaheen (D-NH), Risch (R-ID), Udall (D-CO), Bennet (D-CO), Sanders (I-VT) and Stabenow (D-MI). While the fight is by no means over in the Senate, we are confident that our champions will serve RTP well.
