This tool is designed to assist in the proper alignment of the primary chain by aligning the teeth on the clutch shell with the teeth on the motor sprocket. Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for disassembly and assembly of the primary.

1. Hold the square bar against the inner primary cover and align the pointer with the middle of a tooth on the clutch shell, tighten thumb screw (Fig. 1 & 2).
2. Rotate the tool 180 degrees and check the alignment of the pointer on a tooth of the motor sprocket. If the pointer is not in the middle of
the tooth, adjust the thickness of the motor sprocket shim accordingly and repeat steps 1 and 2 (Fig. 3 & 4).
