Everything is wet in the Pacific Northwest
Irvine, CA (October 16, 2012) – The Pacific Northwest is known for its rainy days and that means that everything is saturated. That includes the logs and dirt used to create the GEICO AMA EnduroCross track that will be constructed inside the Comcast Arena. That moisture makes for extremely slick logs and soft rutted dirt that favors technique over a wide open riding style. In fact, the 2011 EnduroCross podium was filled with riders that have a Trials background as Taddy Blazusiak topped Geoff Aaron and Cody Webb.
So the track map shows the usual mix of rocks, logs, sand, a water hole and other obstacles but the hidden obstacle is the moisture that will make all of these sections even more difficult. Even the best riders have struggled in the past two visits to this venue so you can expect more of the unexpected for 2012.
Like all EnduroCross events, the pit area will be open all day for free and the arena is also open for free for the daytime qualifiers and MVP Racing pro hot laps that determine the gate picks for the heat races. So plan to come early to meet the riders and see a full day of great action.
