We officially kicked off our 2013 race season this weekend in Peoria, Arizona at  round one of WORCS. The teams newest riders Justin Jones, Eric Yorba and Ty Tremaine came into the weekend beaming with confidence, we knew this weekend was going to be success. The bikes were perfectly prepped and after practice, we made a few minor adjustments to suit the rocky, sandy and technical off-road course. This is just the beginning for the FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis crew and walking away this weekend with a top 10 and two podium finishes was the perfect way to start our journey. Thank you to all who have jumped on board this season and our loyal sponsors who have continued their support.

Justin Jones Makes Pro Debut

There was much anticipation this weekend when it came to the newest Pro on the team and in the series, Justin Jones. "After his impressive finishes in the Pro 2 class last year, we felt confident Jones would be a strong contender in the Pro class this season," stated Hurlbert. On Saturday, Jones and mechanic Robbie Goolsby worked together to get the bike just right for the moto/off-road course. In Pro practice Jones strategically kept with AZ-local Destry Abbott to study his lines and technique through the rocks and sand. With everything properly in place on his KTM 450XC, Jones lined up for Sunday's Pro race with ease.

The green flag waved and the Pro/Pro 2 line took off. Jones came around the first turn in 5th place, and began the new two-hour format endurance race. In the first hour, Jones maintained 7th place behind Bobby Garrison and Ryan Abbatoye. After the hour mark, Destry Abbott had mechanical issues that caused him to drop out, and Jones moved into 6th overall. "I just took it all in and kept a consistent pace for the two-hours. The track got really rough, so I made sure to stay up and maintain my lap times. I'm happy with my finish, though I have much higher goals for next round," Jones remarked.

Yorba & Tremaine Pro 2 Podium 

Along with teammate Jones, both Eric Yorba and Ty Tremaine moved up a class for 2013. Yorba and Tremaine qualified for Pro 2 on Saturday in 450A on their 450XC's taking first and second overall.

On Sunday, the boys lined up with the Pro's along with fourteen other Pro 2's. The flag waved, the bikes were kicked and it was none other than Ty Tremaine who took the holeshot.

In the first hour, Eric Yorba came together with David Broderick in a battle for the Pro 2 lead. The two went back and forth before Yorba made the final pass and pushed ahead. "I am really happy with my finish this weekend. I can't thank the team and Bonanza Plumbing enough for giving me this opportunity," said Yorba.

Tremaine kept a solid pace and played it smart, holding onto third to the finish. "I am extremely satisfied with the boys' results this weekend. They really showed their determination, and that they've been doing their homework. I'm really proud," Hurlbert stated.
