For use instructions, refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer of the motorcycle or other vehicle to which you are making adjustments.
Maintenance and Adjustment
Inspect the tool periodically for damage or loose fasteners. If you choose to lubricate the tool, use only light oil at the gear set, detent ball and spring.
The following replacement, optional, and repair parts are available:
08-0240 Straight-Slot Bit
08-0241 #1 Phillips Bit
08-0242 “D” Type Socket
08-0243 6mm Jet Socket
08-0244 1/4“Hex to 1/4” Square Adapter
08-0246 Gear Set
C08-181B 1.5” long Straight-Slot Bit (Optional)
The detent action is adjustable, to increase or decrease the amount of detent, loosen the socket screw and move the adjustment knob closer (for more detent) or further away from the main handle. If you prefer no detent, the ball and spring can be removed.
The gear set has been tested to failure at torque approximately 50% greater than the rated 50 inch-pounds. Because of this, warranty consideration will not be given for damaged or stripped gear sets. To replace the gear set, remove the split pin from the gear and shaft using an appropriate pin punch. Be prepared to trap the detent ball and spring (located at the junction of the adjustment knob and the main handle) when the pin punch is removed. Withdraw the shaft from the gear by pulling the adjustment knob away from the handle. Once the pinned gear is removed, the other gear can be removed from the head of the tool. Replace the parts in reverse order to reassemble.
