JGRMX - Anaheim One Results

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 5, 2014) – The opening round of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship was held last night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.  2014 marks the 40th anniversary of Monster Energy Supercross and 45,050 fans were on hand to usher in the 2014 racing season.  For those not in attendance Fox Sports One broadcast the entire event live.

Justin Brayton and Josh Grant transferred to the main event from their heat race without incident.  Both riders began the main event inside the top-10 with Grant running third.  Over the course of the 20-lap race the teammates found themselves together with Brayton ultimately finishing sixth and Grant seventh.

Coy Gibbs and Thomas Fichter, CEO of N-FAB Products had promised to donate $25,000 to both the Road to Recovery Foundation and the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit if their Toyota Tundra entry in the 2013 Toyota Dream Build Challenge was the winner of the contest by fan vote.  The Tundra was crowned the winner at the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas and Coy and Thomas presented checks to both charities during last night’s event.  The custom Tundra was on display in the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team pit area and will be at every race with open pits throughout the season.

The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship heads to Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz. for round two of the 17-race series on Jan. 11.  Fox Sports One will again broadcast the action live starting at 9:30 p.m. EST.
