Racing News - Outdoor MX Update: Star Yamaha/JGR/Rockstar KTMJul 31, 2014
Update on the AMA Lucas Oil/Red Bull Outdoor Motocross Nationals.
It’s now three quarters of the way through the busy outdoor motocross season, here is an update for all you Motion Pro fans on how our supported teams are doing.
Motion Pro has been a part of the JGRMX program from the beginning as their official Tools, Throttle and Controls sponsor. JGR was one of the first teams to run and race with our innovative Revolver Throttle kit, T3 clutch cables and unbreakable Titan throttle tubes. Now a veteran team in the series and the longest tenured Motion Pro team, JGRMX is putting up some impressive results. SoCal rider Josh Grant came out swinging at round one with a first moto win, showing great speed and endurance. Grant has continued his strong performances and currently is the highest placing JGR rider in 6th. Phil Nicoletti, on an innovative part time contract, has filled in nicely at select rounds with a couple of series best 8th place moto finishes. Justin Brayton came back to the series after a Supercross injury at round 5 and he has shown signs of his signature speed with top ten overall finishes at each round he’s competed. JGR are the acknowledged horsepower kings in the big bike class leading the series with the most holeshots.
Rockstar Energy KTM Racing is competing in the outdoors after a tough SX season that had 450 class crowd favorite and 2013 #2 finisher Davi Millsaps missing the complete season, and rookie upstart Joey Savatgy out for most of the SX season. The bright side, however, has been the performance of 2014 250 SX West champion Jason Anderson, who has been a top 3 rider at many rounds in the Outdoor Series. Look for Jason and Joey to finish the season strong. Motion Pro is the official Tools, Cables and Controls sponsor of Rockstar Racing.
The surprise of the season so far is the off the charts domination of new Motion Pro supported STAR Yamaha riders Jeremy Martin and Cooper Webb. Martin has a commanding points lead after 8 rounds, finding his closest competition coming from his young teammate Cooper Webb. These two riders continue to gain momentum and speed, and the other rookie on the team Anthony Rodriguez is coming on strong after injury. Expect to continue to see blue on the podium the rest of the season. Motion Pro is the official Tools sponsor of STAR Yamaha.
