Jimmy Lewis, editor of Dirt Rider magazine has entered the 9th Running of the Cascade Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run this weekend in Washington and he's pledging, mile by mile, to raise $$$ for Chris Blais and the Chris Blais Medical Fund.
"I'm running a 100 mile race, yes on foot. I'd like to get people to pledge money to Chris's recovery fund for every mile I run," said Jimmy. "Chris is cut from the same kind of stone as me and he'll need all the help he can get in the future. The accomplishments he's had in Dakar are just like mine and as a fellow racer I really want to help him now. This is what I came up with."
"I'll need all the encouragement I can get to keep on going at some point in this 100-mile race and if I know every mile I run will help him out, then I'll go till I can't anymore."

Just a note to let you know that Tim Hackett and I were able to visit Chris yesterday afternoon at his rehab facility in Loma Linda. Other than being a little tired from his physical therapy sessions Chris looked fantastic and full of spirit. When we arrived Chris and Patty had Vegas-To-Reno race paperwork spread all over his bed. Despite his own situation, Chris was hard at work making sure his riders, David Pearson and Quinn Cody had what they needed to compete in this weekend's race. What an inspiration.
Good news about the Chris Blais Medical Fund. This weekend we finally got the Pay Pal link activated so that donations to Chris' fund are simple and efficient with a click of your computer mouse. Please spread the news. I'll send out a more thorough update sometime in the next few days with some quotes from Chris. Thank you all for your attention, care and donations.Scott Cox

A fund has been established today to support the rehabilitation of Red Bull KTM off-road star Chris Blais, who broke his back while pre-running the Vegas to Reno race last Sunday in Tonopah, NV.
"I want to say thank you to everyone for the outpouring of kindness and concern for Chris' well-being," said Blais' wife Patty. "We had no idea that so many people knew Chris and cared about him, but your kindness means very much to him. It has been overwhelming."
Those wishing to donate to the Chris Blais Medical Fund can do so by clicking the link below. You can also visit your local Bank of America branch and ask about the Chris Blais Medical Fund.
