If you take a good look around at the motorcycle world you’ll have a hard time finding another company that is as deeply rooted in racing as Yoshimura. In 1955, Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura founded the company in Japan and then moved to the US in 1971. Yoshimura was perfectly positioned to use his considerable 4-stroke tuning skills in the new AMA Superbike class, which began in 1976. It took three years for Yoshimura to win the top honors in the AMA Superbike class, with Wes Cooley as the rider. This era also saw the beginning of a decade long collaboration with Suzuki motorcycles, the only brand Yoshimura has raced since 1977. That loyalty has earned Yoshimura the right to run many of the Suzuki factory racing teams, including the road racing and ATV teams. The factory Suzuki Motocross team, although not run by Yoshimura, is still based out of their facility.

Like Yoshimura, Motion Pro has its roots in racing. Chris Carter, the founder of Motion Pro, was a factory off road racer and over the years has helped many racers and teams reach the pinnacle of their sport. To this day Motion Pro devotes a large amount of the company’s resources to supporting motorcycle and ATV racing in all its forms. And like our friends at Yoshimura, Motion Pro uses racing as the basis for research and development to make innovative and better products for our customers. Testing under racing conditions stresses product to the limits and produces higher quality, better performing, and more durable products. Yoshimura is dedicated to producing power, while Motion Pro is dedicated to making a mechanic’s job easier and giving riders lighter and more responsive ways to control their motorcycle. Testing at the race track gives us the assurance that our customers are getting the very best products that will provide top performance, lasting satisfaction and value.

Motion Pro signed on with Yoshimura in 2010 as their official specialty tool sponsor, covering all race teams run by Yoshimura. Both the ATV and road race teams rely heavily on Motion Pro tools to make sure that their machines are kept in perfect condition.
