Bead Buddy II Won't Fit
When I fit the bead buddy over the edge of my rim, the slot that engages the spoke does not seem to reach far enough to slide over the spoke. I have a stock 18 x 2.15 DOT aluminum rim on a Honda XR650L. It may be the bead edge of the rim is too thick. Any suggestions ? Am I doing something incorrectly ?

Hello Jeff,
You are correct in that the rim cross section on your bike is thicker than most off road rims. This is something particular to certain models of Hondas like your XRL, and will prevent the slot from engaging on your spokes. All is not lost however, you can still use the Bead Buddy, but just lay it into the rim, and don't worry about the spoke slot. The tire will hold it in place while you do your work.
