My H-D Clutch cable is leaking where it goes into the transmission. What caused the leak?

The best answers

We do get contacts occasionally about leaking cables, and there are a couple of potential causes. It is possible that the fitting was not crimped or sealed correctly, although we have invested a lot of effort in making our cables as good as they possibly can be. Another possibility is that the cable was excessively flexed while installing it. There is a warning attached to the cable describing this potential problem. Flexing the fitting excessively can damage the sealing materials and cause a leak. An impact by road debris can also cause a leak.
