part number 01-0088 (throttle tube) for my stock honda cr 480r throttle housing does not fit or work.

Hello George,
The 01-0088 throttle tube is the replacement tube for our CR Comp throttle assembly, which is an identical replacement for the OE throttle that was original on your motorcycle. If you are not the original owner, it is more than likely that the throttle assembly on your bike now is different from the original, hence your problem. There is an image of the CR Comp throttle on this page: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/01-0056 Is this the throttle you have? If not, we will need to determine what you have to be able to find the correct tube for you.
