selecting the correct quick disconnect
I need help selecting the correct quick disconnect for my fuel system. I'm installing them in 2 places. 1st is the pressurized fuel out from my motorcycles gas tank to the fuel rail (5/16). And the second place is the non pressurized (1/4) return fuel from the rail back into the gas tank. The question concerns the Quick Disconnect 5/16 Dual Shut Off, and the Quick Disconnect 1/4 Single Shut Off. The confusion is whether single shut off describes that only one side of the connection will stop the flow of fuel, and dual means when disconnected fuel will be stopped from flowing on both halves. The descriptions under each part are general and not specific to the exact functional operation of each connection. It just says use single shut off when going from tank to carb, and dual when system (tank) has a cross-over line. I don't have that cross-over line, but still need to know if both sides stop flowing or just one. Please help explain each as I will be ordering these in addition to the Quick Disconnect 1/4 S/T (straight thru- no shut off ) for a vent line. Thanks in advance for your help.
