Stepless clamp size?
I purchased a roll of Motion Pro Low Permeation Premium Fuel Line 1/4 in (12-0068) along with the recommended Stepless Clamps 9.6-11.3mm (12-0081) 10 packs.\n\nThe clamps seem too large for this hose. My Oetiker pliers easily crimp the clamp to the end of it's range and the clamp will still rotate a bit on the hose. \n\nThe new hose is flexible enough that it probably will not leak - while the hose is new - but I did not think the clamps were supposed to be crimped to the end of their range. The factory clamps I'm cutting off are not crimped this way.\n\nAre these the correct clamps?

The 12-0081 stepless clamp should be appropriate for the ¼” LP Fuel Line (12-0068) in the gray color when used on a standard ¼” fitting. However, the 12-0081 clamp is a bit large for our new yellow ¼” LP fuel line, because it has a slightly smaller outside diameter, hence the question about color.
It is possible that the ¼” fitting for which the line is being used is slightly undersized, allowing the gray LP fuel line to squish down more than typical when clamped with the 12-0081 stepless clamp.
We have added a new size stepless clamp, 12-0084, which is 8.8mm to 10.5mm for use with the new yellow ¼” line, but it sounds like this size might also work better for your application as well. Please provide your mailing address and we will send a pack of ten of the 12-0084 clamps to you at no charge.
