- Houston Race Report

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (April 12, 2015) – Round 14 of the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series was held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Tex. The Houston stop of the tour has some interesting historical elements.  Houston and Daytona are the only venues on the tour to have held a round of the series each and every year.  In addition, the first supercross series ever held consisted of just three events, Houston, Daytona, and Los Angeles.  48,024 fans were in attendance.  Fox Sports Two aired the entire race live.

Justin Barcia, who has been recovering from injury returned to racing in Houston.  Both Barcia and Weston Peick transferred directly to the main event from their respective heats.  In the main event Peick started the race in fifth with Barcia seventh.  On lap five a rider collided with Peick taking him down and ending his night.  Barcia remained firmly in the top-10 the entire race finishing ninth in his first race since Anaheim on Jan. 31. Peick was scored 22nd.  Peick is expected to be on the gate this Saturday.

Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. will host round 15 of the series on April 18.  Fox Sports One will broadcast the race live starting at 10:00 p.m. (EST).
