June 15, 2015(Kamloops, BC) After a solid start to the Canadian Motocross season at the first two rounds in British Columbia, the Monster Energy Thor Kawasaki team rolled into the prairie city of Calgary, Alberta for round three, with the red plates of points leader on Brett Metcalfe’s Kawasaki KX450F. The Australian was again the man to beat as the 2013 Champion worked his way into the lead both motos. A 1st moto mechanical while leading gave him no shortage of motivation going into moto two and he rode a solid race to grab the lead and take his third moto win of the season.
Also in the MX1 class, Teddy Maier, had his best race of the season and was in the podium mix both motos. He finished fourth in the first moto and was making his way to the front again in moto two when he hit a downed bike and went down. He rebounded to finish eighth for sixth overall.
Unfortunately, in MX2, Cole Martinez tried to ride practice but was unable to race due to injuries sustained last weekend in Nanaimo. His condition will be evaluated this week before a decision is made on next weekend’s race in Regina.
The series keeps on moving across the prairies as the teams make their way to the capital of Saskatchewan, Regina, for round four, at Moto Valley Raceway. For more information on the series, visit www.cmrcracing.com
