Round three of the AMA National Enduro series was held this past weekend in Westpoint, Tennessee. The event welcomed racers to sunny, yet muddy event as rain pounded the area before the race. The Factory Beta team was ready with Cory Buttrick and Justin Sode as well as newly-signed Jesse Groemm making a comeback after sustaining a concussion just before round one of the series.
Buttrick led the day aboard his Zack Huberty-prepped Beta 300 RR. The Ohio racer was as high as 4th overall with solid special test times and even finishing a season-best 2nd in the 5th test. Buttrick ended the day finishing 6th overall after a bad time in test 2.
"I was excited coming into this weekend knowing it was going to be wet and muddy conditions. It took a while to find the pace early on but finally making a tire change helped my confidence knowing I could put the bike where I wanted and I was able to pick up the pace in the later stages in the race. Other than an unfortunate crash in the final section, we should have been capable of a top five finish. I would like to say thanks to Beta USA, my mechanic Zack, and all of our great sponsors." Buttrick explains.
Jesse Groemm was excited to be back on a bike for the first time since January. Also aboard his 300 RR, Groemm felt comfortable on the bike however is looking forward to more seat time to get back into top form. He eventually finished in seventh place overall just 45 seconds behind teammate Buttrick.
Groemm explains, "I struggled at the beginning of the day but started to find some speed toward the end of the race. My 300 RR was dialed and I'm looking forward to getting some more seat time after coming back from my injury."

Rounding out the team's results was Justin Sode. The Ohio native had a decent result in the mud finishing the day in 16th overall. Sode is looking to improve his finish at the next National Enduro on May 17 in Park Hills, Missouri.
The next event for the team is round 5 of the GNCC championship held in Springville, Indiana this weekend.
